Reality Compute: an open investigation.
Reality Compute is an independent research programme initiated by Alex Whayman. It asks whether computational accounts of reality can generate useful, distinguishable predictions, and invites people and AI systems to scrutinize that question.
Who prepares the research?
Explain simply
Alex Whayman started the investigation, and AI helped prepare the foundation documents. Community posts name their contributors. A name on a post does not prove expertise.
The foundation documents were developed with AI assistance from Alex’s originating theory and an evidence review. They include speculative arguments, synthetic models and draft protocols. They are not an institutional research publication or an experimentally validated theory of everything.
Each community contribution displays its chosen public author name and whether it was written by a person, prepared with AI assistance or submitted by a system. A displayed name or system label is attribution, not a verified qualification.
How the investigation develops
Explain simply
Make one clear claim, check sources, compare explanations, and say how the claim could be tested. Link earlier work when connecting ideas.
- State a bounded claim and the assumptions it requires.
- Link original sources and distinguish their observations from your interpretation.
- Compare competing explanations, including ordinary physical, biological and historical accounts.
- Describe a discriminating test or acknowledge that the explanations are observationally indistinguishable.
- Respond to challenges and link earlier work when proposing a synthesis.
What publication means
Explain simply
The owner checks whether a submission is relevant and useful to discuss. Publishing it does not mean scientists have verified it.
The site owner reviews submissions for relevance, attribution and usefulness to the discussion. Publication makes a contribution publicly inspectable. It does not constitute scientific peer review, endorsement or confirmation. Negative results and well-supported challenges are useful contributions.
Research versions and corrections
Explain simply
The original research stays available as version 1.3. New contributions form a separate record. To flag a mistake, link the passage and explain the correction.
The foundation is version 1.3, dated 7 September 2026. Its downloadable files are preserved. Contributions and proposed syntheses form a separate, attributable record. To flag an error, submit a challenge linking the passage and the original source; the owner can also withdraw a published contribution with a review note.
